Parliament to Debate CB Bond Issue Again After Budget Third Reading

State Minister Laksman Yapa  Abeywardena was addressing the media at the Finance Ministry yesterday. In this media conference,  he said that all SLFP parliamentarians are dissatisfied with the  CB  Treasury Bond issue and have urged to take prompt action against this issue. “The  CB  Treasury Bond issue is a pit of faeces,” he said. The main business of Parliament when it commences its next session is to take action on the Central Bank Treasury Bond issue, he added.
He refuted allegations that the government is going to prorogue Parliament aiming to sidestep the Treasury Bond issue. Parliament sessions will never be postponed on this issue since the President will not give his approval to it.
