Sarath Kumara Gunaratne Arrested By CID

Former Fisheries Deputy Minister Sarath Kumara Gunaratne had been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today(2) .

He  was arrested after a statement was obtained from him on the alleged misappropriation of funds of the Negombo lagoon development project. The Colombo Additional Magistrate had also issued a warrant for his arrest earlier. The former Deputy Minister will be produced before the Court today.
