The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijeratne attending a media briefing held in Colombo, claimed that 25 per cent of bus drivers, drive in Colombo and city limits under the influence of marijuana and heroin.
New laws should be introduce to take action against bus drivers, who drive under the influence of drugs, he added.
Further, his association proposed a fine of 50,000 rupees to be imposed on those driving under the influence of drugs.
