Emergency Telephone Service to Coast Guard Offices

Followed by  a discussion  between  Indian and Srilankan Ministers,  it was jointly decided to install  emergency telephone service at coast guard offices of both countries  to resolve  issues that arise   between  Indian and Srilankan  fishermen. This was revealed in  Indian press. Indian Defence Ministry is now examining  relevant MOU.

Accordingly ,  Srilanka becomes  the  second country after Pakistan  which establishes   emergency telephone service at the coast guard office.
