Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne acknowledged receipt of a set of proposals prepared by faculty deans to resolve the problem regarding SAITM. He said, this while participating in a discussion with a group of physicians held at the ministry yesterday. He maintained that SAITM issue is only a policy matter and action will be taken to solve the problem only through discussion.
In the meantime , 15 trade unions connected to the health sector have decided to engage in a token strike on 20th of this month, demanding the closure of the Malabe Private Medical College.
