Deadline For Motorbikes With High Engine Capacity Registration…

 Having  considered the security  aspect as well as  security  of people on the road ,   the Srilanka  Government has  not allowed  motorbikes  with high engine capacity .

However,  number of bikes  with high engine capacity  had been  illegally imported and used  by Srilankans  without registration.

So far  1,558 motorbikes with high engine capacity  have been registered during the given period while another 2,500 motorbikes are due to be inspected and registered.

Still  there are  more bikes  in the country , which have not been registered. Hence  the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to extend the deadline to register illegally imported motorbikes.

Motorbikes with a 0-450 CC engine capacity are expected to register before the stipulated deadline.

The deadline was accordingly extended till the 31st of March 2017.
