With her chief ministerial hopes dashed after the Supreme Court ruling in the disproportionate assets case, AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala is expected to surrender on Wednesday to serve the remainder of her four-year sentence in Bengaluru jail. On Tuesday morning, the Supreme Court upheld the trial court verdict convicting Sasikala in the 1996 disproportionate assets case. She had earlier served 21 days in prison along with former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa after their conviction by the trial court in September 2014.
