Presidential Commission Suspends Hearing on Bond Scam Pending Clarification by AG

The President has  appointed  a  Presidential Commission  comprising Supreme Court Judges K. T. Chithrasiri and P.S. Jayawardena, and retired deputy Auditor General K. Velupillai Kandasamy  to look into  Central Bank alleged bond scam  and report  back to him.

The public hearing on the  Central Bank bond issue  by  the Commission   commenced yesterday at the commission office in the Courts Complex at Court Avenue and is continuing for the second day today.

 The hearing was suspended to seek the Attorney General’s advice over the presence of lawyers representing perpetual treasuries during the hearing.
