Sri Lanka & Russia Presidents Meets Today in Kremlin

On  invitation extended  by the Russian President, President Maithripala Sirisena has under taken  a three-day state visit to Russia. This visit is  to attend the ceremony  scheduled  to mark 60th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Apart from this President Sirisena is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin today in Kremlin in Red Square.
He scheduled to meet Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev and other Russian leaders. He has already flown to Moscow yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Morgulov, Chief of Protocol and other high officials of the Russian Federation warmly received the President on arrival at the Domo-dedovo International Airport in Moscow.
The ceremonial welcome will be held at the Kremlin in Red Square today where President Vladimir Putin will welcome President Sirisena with a guard of honor.
The two countries will enter into several new Agreements and Memorandum of Understanding to expand bilateral cooperation in several fields such as energy, trade and commerce, agriculture, education, judiciary and Defence.
