The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court rejected a bail application filed by former Minister and NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa today(3).
A Counsel appearing on behalf of Weerawansa had earlier filed the application seeking bail considering the medical condition of his client’s daughter who was undergoing treatment at a state hospital. The Counsel had pointed out that the child had been hospitalized due to depression caused following the arrest of her father. This was after they failed to produce a medical regarding her illness. However, the case will be taken up again.
