No Power Cuts – Siyambalapitiya

 The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy said  a decision has not been reached pertaining to imposing power cuts in future.

Engaging in an observational tour of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant subject Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the malfunction of a generator yesterday that resulted in power cuts will not affect the power supply.

He said in the wake of the dry weather conditions the power supply will not be interrupted under any circumstance.

The Minister on a separate note refuted reports that electricity tariffs will be increased.
