President Maithripala Sirisena while speaking at Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s ‘Eka Mitata Hari Athata’ Peace May Day Rally held in Getambe Grounds, Kandy yesterday said, a Government should always be open and responsive to suggestions of the working class.
He went on to say that in a bid to move the country towards successes, the Government should address the issues of the working class, while fulfilling their demands.
President Sirisena said one of the first challenges that the country had to face was the fact that relationship between the international community and Sri Lanka was fading away. “We have strengthened relationship with the international community. No one will interfere into our affairs. “We should establish reconciliation to develop our nation” President Sirisena stressed.
The President also went on to say some individuals intend to form new parties while criticizing the efforts of the SLFP. “We will move forward successfully, despite the charges,” he added.
