Finally Neville Fernando Hospital to be Taken Over by the State

Speaking at an event held in Kandy yesterday, Minister of Higher Education Lakshman Kiriella said, Dr. Neville Fernando believes that the teaching hospital should be of particular standard and  he was  willing to  hand over  it to the government.

Further he said,  an official statement  in respect of  acquiring the Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital will be issued today(15). Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne will also  sign this statement .

 In the mean time, officials of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine have been informed to refrain from providing admission to new students until several special rulings have been made and implemented.
