A Parliamentary Session Cost Rs. 16.70 Million?

During the year 2016, there was 97 Parliamentary sessions held, which had cost Rs 1,620 million.
According to 2017 budget, the total recurrent expenditure to be spent for parliament is Rs.1.94 billion. Out of which Rs. 278 million is to pay salaries and Rs. 618 million to pay allowances to Parliamentarians. In addition Rs.93 million is spent for food and uniforms, while Rs. 153 million allocated for fuel. Retirement benefits of Parliamentarians cost Rs. 101 million.
There are about 811 employees in the parliamentary staff, out of which 50 are senior level employees while 448 are primary level employees.
