Creation of a Disaster Management Unit to Ensure Continuous Fuel Supply to Flood-Hit Areas

The Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Arjuna Ranatunga said, that  steps have been taken  to appoint a disaster management unit to  ensure supply fuel to flood-hit districts.  Purpose of appointing this unit is to recognize and solve the problems in the distribution of fuel, and to integrate with all relevant institutions to ensure a continuous supply.

Further he said that employees working in  institutions coming under the Ministry,  who were affected by the floods would be provided relief by the Ministry.

Minister Ranatunga stated this at a discussion held yesterday (29).
