S.B. Dissanayake Apologized to Maha Sangha

Minister of Social Empowerment S.B. Dissanayake while addressing a press briefing held at his Ministry yesterday apologized to the Maha Sangha in connection with his comment which might have angered and brought disrepute to the Buddhist clergy.
He asserted that there was still a great deal of suspicion in society over the conduct of BBS General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera.
He further stated that certain points raised by a group of monks of the Asgiriya Sect had been directed at him.
Dissanayake averred that the monks had found fault with him over singling out Ven. Ghanasara Thera for criticism and for having spoken out of context.
