Three Wheeler Charges Gone Up from Today

Self-Employment Union of the 3 wheelers associations announced that three wheeler charges have been revised with effect from today. Accordingly an increase of Rs.10 was introduced to the first Kilometre. Now Rs.50 was charged for the first kilometre, which will be increased to Rs, 60 from today. However, from second Kilometre they will continue to charge Rs.40 as usual. Due to increase in prices of 3 wheel spare parts, operators find it difficult to face it. Hence, the increase union said.

There is no State mechanism in Srilanka either to regulate 3 wheel operations or on rate charged by them.
