Army and Navy Mobilized to Fight Against Dengue in Western Province

Army and Navy have joined hands with public officials and citizens to eradicated dengue in the Western Province.

To aid dengue eradication in the Colombo, Kaduwela, Piliyandala, Hanwella, Homagama and Kahathuduwa areas, the Army deployed more than 260 troops.

In Gampaha and Kalutara districts in addition to the areas of Mirigama, Dompe, Biyagama, Kelaniya, Attangalla, Matugama, Wadduwa and Bandaragama, nearly 250 troops were engaged in Dengue eradication programme.

The Navy was deployed  in clearing waterways in Colombo off garbage and other matters hindering the free flow of water.
