President Rejected 3 Cabinet Papers Submitted by Ravi?

The President Maithripala Sirisena reported to have rejected 3 cabinet papers submitted by the Foreign affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake viz:

1. Requesting release of “Visumpaya” for Ravi’s use as official residence.

2. Requesting approval to appoint a Chief of Staff among his official team.

3. To bring the Authority dealing with Srilankan Pilgrims undertaking trips to India under his purview.

It is relevant to mention that “Visumpaya” is now used to accommodate distinguished official foreign visitors visiting Srilanka. The position of Chief of Staff is granted only to the President House and the Temple Trees and not for any other Minister.
