Prime Minister Ranil Wickramesinghe accompanied by a few Ministers and Members of Parliament met Attorney General on last Wednesday (16). He has enquired about the delay experienced by the Attorney General Department in prosecuting officials and politicians, who were involved in large scale frauds and corruptions in the past. He asked the Attorney General to point out any obstacle he faced in prosecuting them.
Further he discussed about the possibility of establishing of special Courts or Trail -at –Bar Courts within the provisions of the Constitutions.
At the end of the discussion Attorney General has assured the Prime Minister that all possible steps will be taken to accelerate prosecution in respect of massive frauds and large scale corruptions.
