Election Commission Ready to Conduct a Referendum

The Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said, that the President Maithripala Sirisena is empowered to take an independent decision in connection with the Elections.

If the Government decides to call for a referendum, the Election Commission is ready to conduct it within 6 weeks time.
