Salary Increase Granted  CEB Employees Called Off Strike

Followed by successful negotiation  between Minister of Power and Renewable Ranjith Siyambalapitiya  and the CEB trade unions , CEB strike was called off from yesterday. Minister has agreed  to a key demand of the employees calling for salary increments.

Batagoda said the Ministry proposed an 8% increase in salaries for low grade employees of the CEB and a 13% increase in salaries for administrators to bring these individuals under a collective title of engineering services.

He added the Ministry proposed a 10% allowance for those who do not fall under the category of engineers.
