GMOA Against Appointment of Colvin to SLMC

Rumours started to circulate after the post fell vacant that Prof. Gunaratne would be appointed to the post with the backing of the Health Minister, Dr Rajitha Senaratne.

Anti-SAITM Trade Unions has expressed their opposition to Prof. Gunaratne then .

However, Prof. Colvin Gunaratne has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council. The Government Medical Officers’ Association as well as  Anti-SAITM Trade Unions have expressed their opposition to the appointment of Prof. Colvin Gunaratne as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

The GMOA media spokesperson Dr Samantha Aananda said, this matter will be discussed and a decision arrived soon.
