AG’s Department Sought PSC Approval to Recruit 30  Assistant State Attorneys

The Secretary to the Justice Ministry, Padmasiri Jayamanna, said that more than 100 cases were piled up at High Courts. In order to expedite the litigation of cases thirty state counsels  to be  recruited annually.
Hence, approval of the Public Service Commission is sought to recruit 30 states Attorneys to the Attorney General’s Department.
The secretary added that the decision had been taken to assign two state counsels at High Courts with over 100 pending cases.
