Hartal in North Seeking Release of Political Prisoners

A hartal has been launched  in the Northern Province urging the authorities  either  to  charge or to release political prisoners .

19 organizations have confirmed their support to the hartal, which was called by Tamil People’s Council, headed by Chief Minister C. V. Vigneswaran. Shops have been closed in Vavuniya, Mannar, Kilinochchi, and Mullaitivu in support of the harthal.

Inter-provincial buses have also moved out of operations today (13).
