Government Stance on SAITM Will  be Announced This Week

The government’s stance on the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine will be announced this week by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The President speaking at a function in Colombo last week said the government’s stance will be announced today after discussions with all relevant parties.

The Government Medical Officers Association, said they expect the government to provide a people friendly solution to the SAITM issue.

GMOA representative Dr. Prasad Colambage said the Executive Council will convene to decide on future measures if the government’s response is not favourable.
