Weather Forecast For 24th October 2017

Inter-monsoon conditions are getting establish over the island gradually. There is a high possibility for afternoon thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly after 2.00 p.m.

Showers may occur in the Northern province and in the coastal areas of Eastern province and Puttalam district in the morning too.

Fairly heavy falls (about 50-75 mm) can be expected at some places (particularly in the North –central province).

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
