Weather Forecast For 26th October 2017

Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ-The low pressure area at where the winds coming from Northern hemisphere and Southern hemisphere meet) lies over Sri Lanka and there is a high possibility for afternoon thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 2.00 p.m.

Showers may occur in the Western province and in Puttalam district and along the southern and eastern coastal areas in the morning too.

Heavy falls (about 100 mm) can be expected at some places (particularly in the Central, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Vauniya district).

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
