SC Determines Geetha Kumarasinghe Cannot Hold Parliamentary Seat

Earlier the Court of Appeal  determined  that parliamentarian Geetha Kumarasinghe is not qualified to be elected as a parliamentarian,  since she holds dual citizenship.

She made an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging Court of Appeal judgment.

Supreme Court Judge Sisira de Abrew,  who is a member of five-judge-bench  delivered the verdict today .

The Supreme Court issuing an order, said that Parliamentarian Geetha Kumarasinghe cannot hold her parliamentary position, as she is a dual citizen.
