State Minister Palitha Range Bandara yesterday (18) tendered his resignation, from the post of United National Party (UNP) Anamaduwa Organizer, to UNP General Secretary Kabir Hashim.
In a letter addressed to the media, Range Bandara said that he was disappointed that the UNP did not provide value for his sacrifices and services rendered.
He said, “Amidst numerous difficulties, even death threats, I continued my service to the people in Anamaduwa and the party, but the party did not even appreciate my efforts. It ignored my sacrifices. Now, I have understood that there is no use of continuing my efforts further.”
In the letter, titled ‘To the people, who are forgotten by the leaders,’ the State Minister noted that he has gained nothing from politics, but losses.
Further he stated that from the moment he entered politics he had to face 41 law suits, adding that although he has been cleared from all of those, he had to face everything alone because the UNP did not give him any support.
