A.S.P. Liyanage Prefers Governor Post to Ambassador Post

A.S.P. Liyanage previously appointed  as the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Nigeria during the previous regime. He became the talk of the town after he  gave his Peacock Mansion to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Later on  he was appointed as the Qatar Ambassador . He returned to the island recently with the hope of obtaining the post of Governor  to the Eastern Province. However, his dream has been shattered when  former Foreign Minister Rohitha Bohollagama was appointed as the Governor of Eastern Province.

Under these circumstances , A.S.P. Liyanage has called  for a press conference  at his Peacock Mansion. In addressing the media , he said that he does not want to be reassigned to an ambassador post and would rather be assigned to a post as a provincial Governor. Disappointed  A.S.P. Liyanage wish to resign and remain in Sri lanka.
