Garment Factory in Ja-Ela Closed Due to Gas Leak

Measures have been taken to close down a garment factory in Ekala, Ja-Ela for three days  from yesterday following a gas leak in the factory.

The Negombo Magistrate’s Court issued an order to close the factory until Thursday (22), Police said.

Steps will be taken against the administration of the factory over irresponsible management.

42 employees were admitted to hospital yesterday while 50 other employees were admitted last morning to the Ragama and Gampaha hospitals due to an allergic reaction from the gas leak.

Further investigations are carried out by  Ja-Ela Police .
