Matara Robbery Chief Suspect Dies in Counter Attack

Chief suspect Chamara Indrajith arrested yesterday in connection with the robbery and shooting in Matara has been shot and killed by Police when he attempted to throw a hand grenade at Police officers.

Police Media Spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the suspect guided a team of policemen to locate a bag hidden at Kiralakele in Matara.

During this process he had attempted to throw a hand grenade at the police team. Hence,  police had opened fire, killing the suspect.
