Five investigation reports directed to AG

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) -The Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickramaratne has directed investigation reports into five controversial incidents, to Attorney General Dappula de Livera.

Police Media Spokesman Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara said the report on investigations into the murder of veteran journalist Lasantha Wickremetunge is among the five reports.

The Attorney General on the 15th of August called for the prompt completion of investigations into the murders of journalist Lasantha Wickramatunga, 17 persons of an Aid group and the murder of national rugby player Waseem Thajudeen.

He also called for investigations to be completed into the abduction of Keith Noyahr and the abduction and disappearances of 11 youth.

Accordingly the Attorney General called for the expeditious conclusion of investigations and called to submit the completed 113 extracts for consideration of charges against the suspects in all these cases without delay.

The Acting IGP on the 18th of August subsequently called on the Criminal Investigations Department to submit a report on the six controversial incidents.
