Nomination of Maithiri for 2016 Nobel Peace Price- Min.John Amaratunga

President Maithripala Sirisena is to be nominated for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize, The government minister revealed in Parliament on Saterday 28.11.2015. Tourism and Christian Affairs Minister John Amaratunga, who was participating in the second reading debate in the House said, many countries were currently discussing the nomination of President Sirisena for the Nobel Peace Prize for his initiative to form a joint government made up of two main political parties in the country. We can all go and witness President Sirisena accepting the Nobel Peace Prize, if we work together for the betterment of the ountry,he told opposition MPs. The minister said opposition members should support theBudget, if they want to secure their MPs posts. Citing reasons for it, he said each MPwill get Rs1.5 million from the decentralized Budget.
