Met Department predicts showers will continue at night

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology predicts showers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western and Northern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Heavy showers above 100mm are expected at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle district.

Fairly heavy showers above 75mm can be expected in Matara, Puttalam, Mannar, Kilinochchi, and Jaffna districts.

Showers will also occur elsewhere over the Island at night.

Strong winds of 40-45kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the Central hills and in the Southern province.
