Controversial Music Concert & Tax Evade

Popular Latin American singer Enrique Iglesias’s concert held in Colombo recently was highly criticized by many Sri Lankans. President Maithripala Sirisena made International headlines after he made  his observations in Public on the concert.The concert was organized by Live Events Sri Lanka.

Colombo Municipal Council has decided to black list” Live Events Sri Lanka”  as the Company has  evaded tax commitment of Rs 29 million  to CMC. A court case was filed against this company for the same reason.

Among the mostly discussed incidents of the concert were the instances, where a girl jumped into the stage to kiss the Latin American star, while another removing and  throwing her  brassiere at him. President Maithreepala Sirisena stated that  he cannot allow this type of events, which erode the rich culture of Srilanka in future.
