Dormant (Non-operating) Bank Accounts won’t be nationalized-Governor Central Bank

All non-operating accounts will continued to be maintained by Banks and interest credited where applicable. Account holders are entitle to withdraw it at any time they wish. On request it will be refunded. This is the International Banking procedure. Accordingly Banks deposited 3.2 billion in the Central Bank. It doesn’t mean that money lying in non-operating were taken over by the Government. Central Bank act as the custodian of non-operating Bank Accounts.
