Special Presidential Task Force to Protect Children
A Special Presidential Task Force to protect children has been established on Thursday, 07.01.2016 under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.This was established to fulfill a promise made by President Sirisena, the President’s Media Division said. At this event, President Sirisena called for better co-ordination among state institutions to ensure strengthening of child protection in the country.
Measures that have been taken to resolve issues concerning child protection. Attention was also drawn towards the need to restructure the legal framework in order to promote child nutrition and health, it further stated.
