Giritale Military Camp Closed & Sealed ?

A news website has revealed that Giritale Military Camp was closed and sealed following  the order given to Intelligence Officers to file a case against  Army Commander , if he fails to respect and accept  Court order. It reads thus” When Prageeth Ekneliyagoda’s disappearance case was taken for inquiry by the Homagama Magistrate,Police Intelligence Unit was asked to file a case against  Army Commander, if he fails to respect  and accept Court order. Followed by this , instruction was given by  Army Commander, Lieutenant General, Kirishantha de Silva yesterday to close the Giritale Army Camp. Accordingly Giritale Army Camp was closed and sealed. Intelligence Officers and other officers attached to this  Camp were relieved of their duties in Giritale Camp. Giritale camp was handed over to the Minneriya Military Police. Special investigation team comprised of Army intelligence Officers and Legal Division Officers was assigned with the duties to check all documents at the camp, record statements, investigate and submit a report to the Army Commander. Officers, who worked in Giritale Army Camp between 2009 and 2012 were  asked to give their statements to the Investigation Team. This is the first time an Army Camp was closed and sealed in Srilanka. Will this act affects efficiency and productivity  of intelligence officers?”
