5-hour Interrogation of Rohana Welivitta by CID

Rohana Welivitta, who functioned as spokesman for former President Mahinda was summoned to the CID. Along with his lawyers he  went to the CID. Investigation and recording of statement was in respect of  disapearance of 4000 video recordings  depicting  former President Mahinda Rajapaksa missing from  Temple Trees .Secretary to the President has lodged a complaint with the Police that  by 9th January last year, these video recordings reported to have been removed from the room. But Rohana Welivitta stated to the CID, that he left the Temple Trees on 9th January 2015, and he didn’t know anything about the video recordings there after.

Prior to this incident earlier, Police Officer in Charge of Homagama and  the area Superintendent  of Police, investigated this matter from  Rohana Welivitta.Followed by initial investigation several new facts emerged.

Video recordings rights were registered in the name of Rohan Welivitta. Yesterday’s CID interrogation and recording of Rohana Welivitta’s statement took more than 5 hours.
