Minister Sarath Amunugama addressing an event to commemorate the opening of the new examination hall and administration building of the Kandy Open University yesterday (01) stated that the gap between education and employment is has widened further.
The Minister shared his thoughts as to how previous leaders simply opened new schools without any proper facilities to gain popularity but created nothing substantial to help the growth of the youth.
Minister Amunugama further emphasized the lack of equipment and qualified teachers especially in the science stream. He criticized how poor judgment by the past leaders of this country has led to a major social and economic crisis.
