Asia T20 Cup Broadcasting Rights to TNL?

ICC and Star Sports in combine decide about the terrestrial broadcasting rights to radio,TV stations in respect of International Cricket matches.

The SLBC and SLRC have failed to enter into an agreement with the above two organizations for the current Asian T20 cup.

Dialog Axita reported to have made use of the opportunity and obtained terrestrial broadcasting rights and offered to TNL on a commercial basis.

There is wide spread allegation that Asia T20 Cup broadcasting rights were given to TNL,  which is owned by Shan Wickramasinghe, brother of Prime Minister,Ranil Wickramasinghe. TNL radio and TV coverage are not Island wide critics say.

Responding critics, Shan Wickramasinghe said that Island wide signal survey done by Germans and Japanese confirmed 90% Island wide coverage.If any one with the spectacle cannot see, there  must be dots on their  spectacle lenses.They should wash and clean it with tooth paste.

A member of joined opposition, Wimal Weeravansa raised a question about  this in Parliament yesterday.In response, deputy speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said in Parliament that the decision to offer the rights to TNL  was not taken in Srilanka but by  hosting Country Bangladesh.

In the mean time TNL radio and TV has given T20  cricket itinerary in their services.

Asian Cup T20 matches commence today and live broadcast and telecast done by TNL radio and TNL TV.
