Yoshitha Bail Application Postponed (UPDATE)

The Colombo High Court decided to inquire bail application submitted by Yoshitha Rajapaksa on 8th March 2016.

The bail application filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody, will be taken up at the Colombo High Court today.

The Colombo High Court on the 17th of February postponed the bail inquiry  to Monday, 29th .

Yoshitha Rajapaksa and four others, Rohan Weliwita, Nishantha Ranatunga, Kavishan Dissanayake and Ashan Rabinath Fernando, have been arrested and remanded after investigations pertaining to misappropriation of funds at the CSN.

The five were produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court on the 25th of February and were ordered to be further remanded till the 10th of March.

Charges were leveled against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and the four others representing the CSN network, under the Money Laundering Act, after they failed to prove their innocence over how the company derived the starting capital of 234 million rupees, excluding 7 million rupees from the fund.
