Embilipitiya Sumith Prasanna’s Body Exhumed

When the case was called, the State Counsel appearing for the Attorney General submitted that there were certain contradictory features between the post-mortem examination report submitted by the Ratnapura General Hospital and evidence led in court.

Hence,  State Council made an application to  exhume the body and redo postmortem. In response after considering the facts placed before the court, Embilipitiya Additional Magistrate Prasanna Fernando said he would issue an order relating to the request made by the State Counsel to exhume the body for a fresh post-mortem examination.

The Additional Magistrate also ordered Police to provide security to the burial site of Sumith Prasanna Jayawardene. Followed by this,the body of the youth ,  who died in Embilipitiya during a clash with the police is currently being exhumed on Court orders.
