Nimali wins Sri Lanka’s first medal at Asian Athletics Championships

Nimali Liyanarachchi has won Sri Lanka’s first medal at the Asian Athletics Championships currently underway at Wuhan in China.

Athlete Nimali took bronze medal in the 800 Meters Women’s event with a time of 2.394 minutes, while India’s Tintu Luka won the gold.

Liyanarachchi’s bronze is the first medal for Sri Lanka in an 800Meters event since 1993.
