Proposed Tax increase in April and the devalued rupee value against US dollar compelled private Bus Operators to increase bus fare as from April 2016, said Gamunu Wijeratne, President of Private Bus Operators Union. They cannot continue to incur loss and they have already informed about this increase to the Finance Ministry and National Transport Commission, he further said.
