Deadline Of UNP Candidate Applications Today

Accepting applications for United National Party candidates contesting at the upcoming Local Government election concludes today.

The UNP decided to give prominence to women and the youth  being elected into Urban Councils, Municipal Councils and Provincial Councils.

Accepting applications was due to conclude on the 29th of February, however, the party decided to provide an extended time frame until today.

UNP Party Media Spokesman Minister, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said the party headquarters has received 14,800 applications thus far.
