Citizens Provided Opportunity to Point Out Shortcomings in R2I Bill
Deputy Minister of Mass Media , Karunaratne Paranavithana said that citizens have been given the opportunity to correct any shortcomings of the Right to Information bill at the Supreme Court.
The Deputy Minister made this statement during an interview with the BBC World Service.
The Opposition levelled charges against the government claiming the Right to Information draft bill presented in Parliament included matters connected with national security, privacy, criminal investigations and international trade agreements.
Commenting on the stance taken by the Opposition he said the Right to Information bill of other countries also included such limits.
