Chamal Rajapaksha Praise & Welcomes Hambantota Industrial Zone

While speaking in Parliament yesterday, Former Speaker cum elder brother of Mahinda,   Chamal Rajapaksha said, that Mattala airport and Hambantota Harbour alone cannot create employment opportunities. Establishing industrial zone in Hambantota  is  a  praise  worthy and welcome move  by the Government . While welcoming industrial zone , Chamal Rajapaksha requested the Government to clear the suspicion and misconception of Hambantota people .  Main reason for the Hambantota disturbance is about granting 15 ,000 acres of land , which includes acquisition of private lands . People doubts whether it is a 99  years lease  or permanent one.  Hence ,  the Government should address  these concerns and  resolve it  before proceeding with further work antagonizing  the public.

I welcome the move taken by  the Prime Minister  to brief Maha Sanga in this connection. I thank him for it.  In the same manner ,  I wish the Government should explain it to the  people. Further, Government should pay attention to the agreement entered into  with China in the year 2014, he concluded.
